Angels of the ER
Past IDG President, Carla Hummer, founded the Angels of the ER in 2001 to improve communication between hospital staff and families waiting in the Emergency Room as well as caring for families waiting in the ER. This team of highly-trained volunteers assists patients and families receiving emergency care at Saint John's.
The Angels program has received national recognition and honors and has become a sought-after model for other hospital Emergency Departments across the country. Several of our members continue to serve as “Angel” volunteers.
